Pew Research: "Americans Overwhelmingly Say Access to IVF is a Good Thing"

Updated: Mar 12

May 13, 2024

A recent Pew Research Center survey reveals that 70% of Americans view access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) positively, with only 8% expressing opposition and 22% uncertain.

Support among women (70%) and men (69%) is basically equal. Strong majorities of Protestants and Catholics, Republicans and Democrats, even pro-life and pro-choice adults, all believe access to IVF is a good thing.

This widespread approval reflects Americans' collective belief in IVF's role in assisting individuals and couples who face fertility challenges.
